One more night at Tokyo club with great hip hop beats served by the Scratchers Anónimos and their guests: DJ Sahid and DJ Maddruga. To stay up to date with future events leave a Like on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ScratchersAnonimos/
Have you heard about Skate’n’Swell? Not yet maybe, but soon you will! It is a beachwear and streetwear company that is going to set off soon and I had the pleasure to do the first photoshoot for them. If it is for beach and surf lovers, where is the best place to do the photo session? Enjoy and let me know in the comments what you think.
As usual – a little background. Lisbon being full of graffiti, street art of all kinds introduced me to some abstract faces here and there (alright, I’ve seen maybe 3 or 4) in 2017 and I realized that the author – Praktis – is from Poland, like me. Tagged him in my stories and because the pieces were still fresh I wanted to meet the guy, but turned out he was no longer here in Lisbon. Anyway we kept in touch and I was asked to take some photos of this awesome t-shirt! Luckily, one of the pieces that Praktis left behind is still in a good state (although the other half is already missing…) I used it as a background. Big thank you to Saula (a very good singer by the way!) for being a great model to work with.
A couple of photos from the Back to Scratch (6.04.2019) event at Tokyo Bar in Lisbon. And we could all see that winter was against us, because this time the club was full!
It is time! The official date is 25th May and I encourage all of you to take part in this worldwide event, because the main theme is “documenting humanity”. It’s the third time I will be part of this awesome initiative and believe me – it is great fun!

A couple of weeks ago I decided to have a walk along the river from Santa Apolónia heading north. Following the train tracks and one of the main roads I took some photos of freight harbour machinery, cargo containers and railway wagons. You know, this kind of industrial scenery which to me looks best in the evening or at night. It was midday when I was there and the weather was extra sunny, with only a few clouds, so I didn’t really get that mood I’d like to capture one day…
But there was something I completely forgot about.
I remember that last year I have only seen some visualizations of new residential estate and I noticed there was a developer’s office and a new building. I walked in the office and I could see the whole estate model (sorry, no photos as it was behind a plexiglass).
And the visionary of that place was not John Smith, but a very well known architect – Renzo Piano.
Instead of giving you a long lecture about who and what I will simply drop the link to their website and let you enjoy some photos of the first completed building (at the moment it is the only one standing).

A couple of photos from the Back to Scratch (1.12.2018) event at Tokyo Bar in Lisbon.
I met Thiago during Loures Arte Publica in June this year. He was painting a wall as part of the event and I was taking photos of the artists and their works. We spent quite a lot of time together during our breaks and even though we are from completely different parts of the world we have some friends in common. At some point we were talking about the music… I made a video clip for a good friend of mine – Alergeek, and Thiago told me about his project – Beats Sessão da Tarde. The idea is simple, yet got my attention due to it being a rich source of creativity – an artist (or more artists) makes some beats live, some cool spot in the background and we roll!
We recorded the first video with Thiago in October, it was the first session recorded outside and first one in Portugal (previous ones were made in Brazil). Then we had 2 more sessions in November and below is the result of our most recent action with Bambino.
Hope you enjoy the video and if you do, don’t forget to subscribe to that channel!
I remember that since I was a little kid I was always fascinated by the sound of scratching vinyl. Every move had to be synchronized to match the beat and at the same time drag the listener into the underground vibe.
I met Scratchers Anónimos – DJ Ki, Camboja Selecta and DJ Ketzal, about 1 year ago at one of their Open Scratch Jam sessions at Anjos 70 in Lisbon. The guys are super friendly and we had multiple chances to spend time together always surrounded by great music. It was a big pleasure when I took some photos of them for fun and as a token of appreciation they asked me to work with them, as they are preparing to expand their activity and will need some good quality images.
They didn’t have to ask me twice…
Tonight they will be entertaining the guests of Tokyo Bar and I will be there capturing the fun!
