Close encounter with Portra 160

You heard about the “couple goals”? I met a couple who have plenty of common goals. One of them is film, another cinematography and another is pictures. And many more – I am sure of it! Our story started pretty funny and I remember this very well today. I was walking around the flea market in Lisbon, on the lookout for some cheap film and cameras (by the way, I failed to find “cheap”) and I saw this girl shooting sneaky photos of people in a cafe where I stopped with a friend for a beer. I approached her because it was the time I was very interested in street photography of this kind – non-invasive and quiet. Big bonus for shooting that with an analogue camera! I didn’t want to be a pain, so I just asked if I can see her gallery online and we exchanged our Instagram accounts. Totally worth checking that! It turned out that she was only visiting Lisbon, but will be back shortly. And you know what? We met again! We could talk a lot about photography and I also learned from her, which really matters for me. She seemed like a genuine person, who was not afraid to share her skill with (almost) a stranger. And if she was so cool, how could her boyfriend be any worse? Not at all! They are both filmmakers and cinematographers, both talented and knowledgeable. And most important fact is that they are both giving their true opinions. Real stuff only. And I am so happy that I could go for a photowalk with Giulia, I am happy that I could shoot some videos with Gonçalo. I am even more happy that we could have some drinks and dinners together. But I am sad, because I miss these two amazing souls, who live their lives happily in Italy now. Can’t wait to meet them again. But why am I even telling you this? It’s because these two people are important to me and I miss them a lot! And they gave me a roll of Portra 160 for my birthday last year! I only shot it recently, because I had some issues with my camera, but here it comes. You can wipe your tears and enjoy the photos – or if you dislike them – cry again.

To Giulia and Gonçalo – thank you very much for this gift 🙂
